Being Vegetarian in Douglas County, Georgia
Vegan Friendly Restaurants in Douglas County We have no completely vegetarian restaurants in Douglas County! Somebody open one! Taste-of-Thai Cuisine of Thailand 2911 Chapel Hill Road, Suite 24S, Douglasville 770-577-4142 (next to Cold Stone Creamery). Taste-of-Thai is open 7 days a week. The spring rolls are a great appetizer. My favorite dish is the massamam with tofu instead of meat (vegetables, cashew & raw avocado in a slightly spicy sauce with white rice). I also really like the green curry tofu - spicy & a bright green color. The Bagel Meister The Bagel Meister is located at 2750 Chapel Hill Rd, Ste. 400, Douglasville, GA 30135 (near I-20, behind the Starbucks). The have vegetarian sandwiches. (The vegetable soup contains beef stock.) The bagels have no dairy in them. I like a toasted plain bagel with spicy mustard and tomato slices on top. Lately I've been getting the anything bagel toasted with humus on both halves. For more information, you can contact the owners, Dean and Diane Reimers (natives of Miami), at info@thebagelmeister.com or call (770) 577-2010. Chilitos 639 Thornton Road, Douglasville 770-819-0550 They have fresh salsa and it is excellent - I am addicted to it. The chips are boiled in vegetable oil. I either order two tacos with black beans or a burrito with black beans in a whole wheat wrap. (The brown beans are now vegan and they are delicious too!) The owner is very accommodating to vegetarians, when she took over the restaurant she added more vegetarian options. Their cold hibiscus tea is also very tasty! China Liu's Chinese Restaurant Szechuan, Hunan, and Cantonese Cuisine 2735 Lee Road, Suite B6, Lithia Springs, (in the Publix Shopping Center on the corner of Lee Road and Fairburn Road) 770-577-6618 The vegetable fried rice has no egg! I highly recommend the Buddhist Delight and the Mixed Vegetables with Garlic Sauce. It is always ready in 10 minutes! Call in your order and never have to wait. It is open 7 days a week. Moe's on Douglas Blvd. has a tofu taco I get on Taco Tuesdays - tacos are buy one get one free if you buy a drink. Both the pinto and black beans are vegan. Olive Garden On Douglas Blvd, near the mall. There are a few vegetarian pasta dishes I like. They will bring you breadsticks without butter if you request it. (They DO NOT have any veal on their menu!)
